The need for the old / wrong / sinful to break / 'brake' in order that the "new" [to us] / right / holy to be begun in our lives. (Sometimes, this will not be God's first attempt at correcting some area of our lives.) Witness the Israelites in the desert. Beware that it was unbelief in God that kept so many from inheriting the land that was promised. Belief in God is not merely an acknowledgement of His existence. It is a submission to His Will in our lives as we both read His Word and obey His voice as His Spirit prompts us inside our spirit.
